Ae! group has claimed the top spot in Oricon’s 2024 annual sales ranking for new artists, with an impressive total of ¥2.89 billion in sales. This marks the first time in six years that a male group has topped both the mid-year and annual newcomer charts, and it’s the first such achievement in the Reiwa era. Additionally, Ae! group is the first male group in four years to surpass ¥2 billion in sales within the ranking period.
The group attended the awards ceremony at Oricon in Roppongi, Tokyo, where member Yoshinori Masakado expressed heartfelt gratitude. “This is an award that can only be won in our debut year. We owe it to our dedicated staff and fans. The numbers are overwhelming, but I want to honor each story behind them and continue growing as artists,” he said, vowing to return with future accolades.

Record-breaking debut year
Their debut single, A BEGINNING, released on May 15, debuted at No. 1 on Oricon’s Weekly Singles Ranking with 625,000 first-week sales—the highest debut-week sales of 2024. Their second single, Gotta Be, also debuted at No. 1 with over 300,000 first-week sales.
